EU Empire's Squalid Stitch-Up

Two unelected non-entities are the faceless faces of an EU superstate in an outrageous stitch-up by Europe's ruling elite. Cunning Brown pulled a fast one, slipping his quangocrat crony into a top job, leaving a shocking undemocratic legacy. EU can't make it up.

The UK already has an unelected head of state and two unelected prime ministers in Brown and Mandelson. Now a new boss of the EUSSR is set to join them with a New Labour crony by his side.

Van What? and Baroness Who? An obscure unelected president and foreign minister of an all powerful faceless facade, now call the shots on sovereign domestic, foreign and military policy.

In a rare show of solidarity, unlikely bedfellows the Mail and Guardian came to the same conclusion and same front page headlines - The Great EU Stitch-Up.

Riding rough shod over democracy, a staunch Belgian federalist and former health authority chairwoman were plucked from obscurity for the two powerful jobs, after Euro Club 27 met behind closed doors to stitch up a deal to chose their new president and foreign minister.

In the true spirit of squalid EU 'democracy' and taste of times to come, the two jobs were decided - over a slap-up dinner.

Did any of the 500 million citizens anywhere in Europe get a look in? Did any elected MEP have a say?

Warmongering Blair was out on his ears after failing in his life-long bid to rule a new EU empire. Finally scuppered as some EU leaders refused to buy into all the Blair hype and the shame of his illegal Iraq war. A Merkel-Sarkozy pact put an end to the sham of a charismatic charlatan.

Sensing the game was up, Brown pulled the plug on Blair to plug one of his appointed cronies, Mandy replacement trade commissioner Ashton, for the powerful foreign ministers' job.

Mandy's dreams of landing the foreign 'secretary' job in the EU or government have been dashed. A pantomime dame left with the onerous task of spinning for a fag end government and stage managing a doomed New Labour farce.

Now a political appointee who has never been elected to anything will have the most influential job in the EU bureaucracy. A political counterpoint to Belgian president Rompuy which paves the way for a Sarkozy placeman to run the EU economy and the City.

Ashton's meteoric rise from head of Hertfordshire health authority to EU high representative was a surprise to say the least. "As unelected as she is obscure," observed the Guardian.

But as unelected New Labour leader in the Lords, Ashton helped steer the sham of the Lisbon treaty through parliament without a referendum - the very treaty which created her plumb new job.

Now heading up a vast EU diplomatic service with embassies around the world, Brown's placeman is also responsible for Europe's security and defence policy.

Blair may be gone and Brown soon to follow but their legacy of a new EU superstate lives on.

Democracy has been ripped to shreds, with a bunch of unelected EU commission 'civil servants' masquerading as a government. An EU president and 'high representative' represents the unaccountable bureaucratic EU superstate.

The EU treaty failed to set limits on the size and scope of the EU government. An EU superstate with new powers over defence and foreign policy creates a chilling new Empire. A totalitarian dictatorship for the 21st century.

In was Blair who gave one of his empty promises that when it came to all things EU it was time to "let the people have the final say". But the 'people' were not allowed the luxury of democracy when it came to 'electing' an EU president or foreign 'minister'.

An ever expanding EU superstate is looming on the horizon, way past its original 1975 sell-by date - with laws imposed from Brussels, with over-arching powers over foreign and military policy, with a couple of unelected nobodies running the show for the EU club's ruling elite.

EU Navy Blues

Backdoor moves by Brussels to set up an EU navy by stealth has been thrown in the open with the hunt for a missing yacht couple kidnapped by Somali pirates. But did anyone know we had an EU navy at all? The Senior Service is overstretched and over there.

BBC News has been quite brazen, flagging up the 'EU navy task force' on the look out for Somali pirates. Other news organisations are keen to keep the Royal Navy flag flying.

An EU navy swooping on the poor souls escaping for a better life in the Med or running down drug smugglers is one thing. But in the middle of the Indian Ocean? What did they do take a wrong turn at Suez?

The ships looks like ships of the Royal Navy. No doubt crews have HMS hats. But these are EU ships, under EU political control, all part of the EU's first naval task force, Operation Atalanta.

Brown's Navy cuts have already bitten deep. Now it seems all eggs have been thrown into the EU basket. The Senior Service is overstretched and over there chasing pirates in the Indian Ocean.

Who's left protecting UK coastal waters? What happens if someone invades Gibraltar - or the Falklands?

Crafty moves by the European Commission to set up an EU "coastguard", drew fire a couple of years ago with critics warning this was a back-door ploy by Brussels to build up an EU navy by stealth, with its own powers to stop and search shipping.

The MoD website has been quite open about it. Proudly declaring in 2008 that the Royal Navy's Rear Admiral Phil Jones took charge of "the EU led counter-piracy naval operation," which is to operate off the coast of Somalia.

But what legal base is the EU using? Which Treaty has been used? Certainly not the new Lisbon treaty because it hasn't been bulldozed through yet. When were people given a say to commit UK forces to action under the command of the EU?

Do ships fly the Royal Ensign, the EU flag or mixture of both (top picture)? Do they take orders from some bod in the Admiralty or a braided Eurocrat in Brussels. Who gives the order to open fire?

Brussels empire building knows no bounds. The phantom force is on the march. The Orange Party was always suspicious of the spin the new EU treaty was "just a tidying up exercise".

You can see where this is going. A frigate in action here, a Euro fighter in action there. All dressed up with EU charm, using the cover of tackling 'piracy', 'drug smugglers' and 'international terrorism'.

But they come on the back of other empire building moves by Brussels, including the planned EU land army.

The country that fought a hot war against Hitler and a cold war against Khrushchev is now being dragged towards an EU superstate with new powers over defence and foreign policy.

A totalitarian dictatorship for the 21st century. A Euro Army with an unelected warmongering El Presidente Blair in charge of the new Empire and we'll be Back in the EUSSR.

Blair's Irish Ayes Are Smiling

Warmongering Blair's future hangs in the balance as he waits in the wings for the top EU job. All eyes are on Ireland, with Cornered Cameron set to be forced out of the closet if the Irish are bullied into voting 'yes' to the despised EU treaty.

The people of the Republic have already sent a resounding 'no' to Brussels. Now they've been forced to do it all over again with a few carrots dangled over the same EU treaty. The UK's future and that of Europe hangs on the Irish vote.

The first real test of the new PM-in waiting's leadership will come as the Tory conference kicks in, with all eyes on how Cameron keeps a lid on a Eurosceptic backlash after today's likely Irish 'yes' vote.

Cameron made referendum promises pinning his hopes on the Irish voting 'no' again. But times have changed in the Emerald Isle. The false boom of the economy lies in tatters.

The dirty tricks Euro 'yes' campaign makes Mandy more like Saint Mary. Ryanair boss, O'Leary, has admitted he only funded the 'yes' campaign to get his hands on Aer Lingus. Voters are ripe pickings for the EU con. Now the Irish look set to be blackmailed into submission.

The Tories old wound of Europe is set to open up. Dave will have to come clean sometime with a cry of EU - you're driving me crazy.

The Orange Party doesn't buy into the Euro hype, eurosceptic but not euroseptic. Only EU cronies who have the most to gain from the Euro gravy train are on side. But increasing the burdening Brussels bureaucracy is only part of the problem.

What is at stake is democracy, with a bunch of unelected EU commission civil service types pretending they are a government. Blair is set to be president of an all powerful faceless facade, riding rough shod over sovereign domestic, foreign and military policy with a record for a "taste for war".

The spectre of the scary 'right-wing' brands anyone who doesn't fit into their cosy EU world. But the right-wing does not have sole rights over euroscepticism. The far left is just as much against the new EU treaty, so too the 'decent' left. As Sholto Byrnes points out in the Indy, that right-wing tag has stifled real debate on this issue for too long.

Mummy Merkel, now free to move with the centre right, has scuppered plans for Turkey to join the club. But Germany sneaked in a quick signing just before the elections, much to Mummy's delight. Along with Short-arse Sarkozy they are Europe - pushing their national interest through the Brussels back door, leaving windswept Brits to tag along by the coat tails.

The EU doesn't do no. Like naughty children, the people of the ROI had a slap on the wrist to do it again until they got it right. Only Poland and the Czech Republic are left to be blackmailed and bullied into submission.

Here New Labour is singing to the tune of His Master's Voice, breaking their 2005 election manifesto promise to hold a referendum. But their lies and betrayal was backed up by Euro-boy Clegg and his unforgivable peers who sold their soul to an EU superstate and pushed the hated treaty through parliament.

An ever expanding EU superstate is way past its original 1975 sell-by date. The EU should be about trade not laws imposed from Brussels with over arching powers over foreign and military policy, presided over by a war criminal massaging his ego and bank balance.

In the squalid world of power politics, all roads lead back to Blair. The Orange Party has long believed 'Boney' Blair has been biding his time until the plumb job was up for grabs. EU leaders pick the president and Blair is set to be nominated if the ROI referendum backs the treaty. Born-again Blair at the helm of one of the most powerful posts on the planet is a recipe for disaster.

The one ray of hope is that Blair cannot formally take up the almighty position of master of a new Empire, until all 27 EU countries have ratified. When it comes to Blair, Hague isn't vague, so what will Will have to say?

Mandy's life-long quest to install pal Blair as president of a new EU superstate will draw to a close. Billy-no-mates Brown has outlived his usefulness to the Gang of Four. With Blair's feet under EU top table, will Mandy drop Liability Brown like a ton of bricks after his skullduggery to prop-up Brown and skip off back to Brussels to join him?

Where does that leave Dave's promise of a EU referendum? Was there, as Oborne hinted, a squalid pact brokered between Cameron and Blair - with Cameron doing nothing to damage Blair's EU chances, while Blair agreed not to speak out against Mr Ambition's plan to get into No 10?

So what does Dave have in mind when here, parliament has already ratified the treaty, thanks but no thanks to Euro-boy Clegg? If, as PM, he holds a referendum and the country gives it the thumbs down, then he's bound to get it in the neck from the Euro Club.

New Labour will be lovin' it, painting the Tories as a Party in disarray, divided once again on Europe, with that 'right-wing' bogeyman crawling out of the woodwork.

It's all up for grabs, with Dave earlier wriggling: "If the Germans ratify, if the Poles ratify, if the Czechs ratify, if the Irish vote 'Yes' to the Treaty, then a new set of circumstances apply, and I will address those at the time."

In 2004 Blair gave one of his empty promises that when it came to all things EU it was time to "let the people have the final say". But then he could talk the talk and walk the walk with promises of all things to all men and the sisterhood.

The Orange Party got a tad tired taking pot shots at dead ducks in Brighton. In Manchester, after the Irish vote, Cameron has a chance to deliver real, radical, bold alternatives to the failed policies of a fag-end government and its lame duck leader and prove he's not just an heir to Blair and another slick, snake-oil salesman.

Cameron will have to come out of the closet pretty sharp or the Old Etonian will find it's grim up North.

Brown Is Busted, Get Used To It

Bunkered Brown has run out of time and options. His days at Downing Street are doomed. He's pinning his hopes on pulling a rabbit out of the hat and shuffling the Titanic deck chairs. But there's no plain sailing for a sinking ship.

If the rabbit turns into a chipmunk and no-one wants to play musical chairs, bunkered Brown is busted. He better get used to it.

At Westminster all eyes and ears are on Big Ben when the clock strikes 10. Votes will be cast and the die is cast for Brown. Alea iacta est. The next frenzied 24 hours will be a long time in politics.

The Chipmunk scurried back to Salford to spend more time with her expenses after delivering battered Brown a killer blow on the eve of elections. Public humiliation without having the guts to sack her has left the sisterhood seething. A Revenge Of The Chipmunk may be on the cards sticking  the knife in the ex-Supreme Leader.

The backbench revolt is real enough no matter how Mandy tries to spin it otherwise. Brown's fate was sealed by the angry Parliamentary Labour Party who have had enough of a Party leader who doesn't give a toss about them.

Rebels may well have a cause as they try to gather more than the magic 70 signatures to force a leadership challenge. But the cyber plot of an email doing the rounds to oust the once Dear Leader is a waste of time. There's no need. Mortally wounded, Brown is toast.

The Orange Party well remembers other letters doing the rounds. They usually don't come to much. A useful seed but little else. The plan is to undermine the PM so much that a top dog will pull the rug from under him.

All the usual suspects are there. Clarke, Byers and Milburn. Once again, there's talk of a 'stalking horse' joining with the rebels to force a contest and stick the knife in.

But all this mindless manoeuvring is pointless. Beleaguered Brown's fate was sealed by the PLP and Guardian calling on the Party to cut him loose. With friends like that you don't need enemies.

Disastrous results from today's local and Euro elections are a side-show but they will provide the catalyst for the end-game as Brown is finally forced to face up to reality and admit the game is up.

The sheer chaos sparked by the MPs' expenses scandal and blind panic over disastrous poll ratings says it all. The government is falling to bits.

The end can only come come at cabinet-level. Pre-emptive strikes by two homes secretary Smith and rocking the boat Blears sent a clear message that the time is up. Out of the chaos a whole raft of challenges have popped up. When the authority of a prime minister is undermined to such an extent it really is time to spend more time with his family.

The key lies in the once vaunted reshuffle. Flammed up by Downing Street as part of born-again-Brown to re-assert his authority. it was all designed to give the government breathing space and a new lease of life to cling on ahead of the inevitable general election.

But it's all too late. Brown should have struck while the expenses iron was hot. Two of those earmarked for the sack to show his 'strong leadership' have now gone. His chancellor and foreign secretary don't want to budge. If they are forced out, chances are they would rather quit the cabinet leaving another direct challenge to Brown's authority.

Brown is not in the business of promoting his enemies to stop the plotting but the neat solution to entice back Blair bruiser John Reid with the poisoned chalice of the home office again fell on deaf ears. Promoting his henchman Balls to the treasury would sign his political suicide note to the PLP and the country.

It's looking increasingly likely that Brown simply cannot carry out a major reshuffle and that leaves him a dead duck.

The option left is to refuse to budge with the backing of His Master's Voice Balls and the tight cabal of Downing Street cronies in it for the lust of power and glory. Then trying to prise him out clinging on by his fingernails is hugely difficult for MPs or ministers.

But then a prime minister's power and support simply melts away with a government in meltdown.

Meanwhile the long-suffering public are angry and fed-up with MPs' expenses and desperate for a general election. Instead they have to put up with the charade of petty power politics. Only through a Euro election and a Middle Earth battle in the English shires can they make their views known at the ballot box.

But use their vote they must. If only to pick someone who will fight tooth and nail for a referendum on the disgraceful Lisbon Treaty and someone who isn't in it for themselves to feather their nest as the next Euro millionaire on the EU gravy trail. That narrows the field somewhat.

Euro-Boy Clegg Set To Save The Treaty, Again

What part of 'Liberal Democratic Party' don't the LibDems understand? This afternoon they had the chance to end once and for all the undemocratic farce that is the new EU Constitution/Treaty. Fat chance with Euro-boy Clegg in charge.

The Treaty is due be formally ratified once it passes its final stage in the House of Lords, despite the 'No' vote by the people of the Irish Republic.

The Lords, by any reasonable test of democracy, should vote to put the new Treaty and its ratification on hold.

But the LibDems helped pave the way for the new EU Treaty/Constitution when they refused to back a UK Referendum and allowed the new Treaty to pass through the commons.

Now LibDem peers are set to vote with the New Labour elite in the Lords and allow the ratification of the Treaty to go ahead. Strange for a political party that sets its store on democratic values.

New Labour has tried to stuff the Lords with peers promoted for 'services to the Party' but with the Conservative Lords opposing, their vote alone won't be enough to push through the EU Constitution/Treaty.

So enter Euro-Boy Clegg - a member of the EU Political Elite if ever there was one.

But where is Clegg coming from? In the muddled, confused world of LibDem politics, the answer is crystal clear - nobody knows.

He has all the hallmarks of the New Labour Political Class. Real name Nicholas William Peter Clegg, like many of the Political Elite shortened to the ' call me Tony' moniker.

From prep-school to public school then Cambridge, Clegg studied Archaeology and Anthropology - what the 'nice but dim' read to get into Oxbridge with weak A-level grades (Prince Charles was one too) - then a political career in the EU as MEP.

The LibDems are going nowhere in the opinion polls but have only themselves to blame. They chose a New Labour clone who looks OK on telly. And a man who has EU written all over him.

So LibDems and Euro-Boy, do you agree that the new EU Treaty is being bulldozed through by the UK government and Brussels? Do you agree that the Irish Referendum 'No' vote was true democracy in action?

So why on earth are you set to vote for it?
